FAQ

Questions & answers

Answers to common questions about booking, new clients, pricing, and payments.

Booking

  • Do I need to create an account?

No. Just send a request and we'll get back to you.

  • Is my request confirmed when I submit it?

Not yet. A request lets us check availability for your dates and confirm your price. New clients then have a meet & greet with Kelsi or their sitter and complete our new-client forms. Once everything is in place, we confirm your sitter and dates — that's when your booking is final.

  • Can I request a specific sitter?

Yes. Choose a preferred sitter on the request form or from our sitters page. We'll confirm who's available before your booking is final.

New clients

  • Do new clients meet the sitter first?

Yes. Every new client has a meet & greet with Kelsi or their sitter before the first visit.

  • What forms do new clients complete?

Our new client & pet form (routines, vet, and emergency contacts) and any other required forms, which we'll send you. See new-client information.

Services & pricing

  • Where do you provide care?

Park City, Heber City, and Midway. Travel fees may apply outside these areas.

  • How is pricing set?

Prices on our services page are starting rates. We confirm your price when we check availability, before your meet & greet.

Payments

  • How do I pay?

We accept cash, check, or Venmo. Checks can be made out to The Wandering Wag LLC. Your price is confirmed with you before your meet & greet, so there are no surprises.

Policies

  • Do I sign anything?

Yes. Every new client signs our liability form before the first visit. It covers the points below.

  • How much notice do I need to give to cancel?

Pet sitting (overnight care): Please give at least 3 weeks' notice. Cancellations made more than 14 days before the first day of care have no fee. Cancellations made 8 to 14 days before are charged 75% of the quoted total, and cancellations made 7 days or less before are charged 100%.

Walks and drop-in visits: Please give at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a visit are charged 50% of the quoted total.

Extenuating circumstances are considered case by case — just reach out.

  • Can my rate change after I book?

Rates are quoted when you reserve. They only change if you ask for additional services, or if a change is needed for your pet's safety.

  • How do I pay?

We accept cash, check, or Venmo. Checks can be made out to The Wandering Wag LLC.

  • What if the weather is unsafe?

If weather makes it unsafe for your pet to go out, or your sitter can't safely reach your home, we'll contact you as soon as possible and reschedule.

  • What happens in a veterinary emergency?

You authorize your sitter to get emergency veterinary care if it's ever needed — with your regular veterinarian, or an alternate if yours isn't available. Charges for that care are the owner's responsibility.

  • Is there any risk when dogs play together?

Dogs are always carefully supervised, but because of the way dogs interact with one another, minor cuts and scratches can still happen.

  • What about fenced and unfenced yards?

No fence — including electronic fences — can be guaranteed secure. The Wandering Wag LLC isn't liable for the injury, disappearance, or death of a pet that escapes a fenced yard, or from an unfenced yard.

  • What if my pet injures someone or damages property?

Owners are responsible for injuries their pet causes to a sitter, other people, or other animals. The Wandering Wag LLC isn't responsible for damage your pet causes to your property, except where we've acted with gross negligence. Please tell us about any behavior concerns before your first visit.

  • How are my keys or entry code handled?

Your keys or entry code are used only during care, and keys are returned once they're no longer needed or whenever you ask.
